MEET GT$
1. When did you start making music?
- I started making music the year DMX’s first album dropped, 1998.
2. What does music/hip-hop mean to you?
- Hip-hop is the culture I was raised in. I am a child of hip-hop. It means the world to me.
3. Who inspired your sound or journey?
- Many people inspired me, personally and professionally. As a fan, I was inspired early on by Run-DMC and Naughty by Nature, and then ultimately by Wu-Tang Clan. When Wu dropped, I was ready to contribute as an artist, at least in my mind I was.
- Personally, my family and everyone around me inspire me to continue. Capo, MK, Mir LaQuan, A Racks, my team homi family, my Rebel Army bros still out here killing it, my Sniper Core, my Hoodie Boys, my fam in ENY (Big Solid and Hydro), my Mugga Gang fam in Brownsville, my UGA family, Frank Knight, and everybody over there keeping independent hip-hop alive and strong, and many many others.
- I get inspiration from anything or anyone that is positive around me.
4. Dream collaboration?
- My dream collab would be with Method Man. I told you… Wu-Tang forever!
5. What does PushMoneyEnt mean to you?
- Push Money is the legacy. Family first.
6. What are you pushing? (PME signature question)
- I’m pushing lyrical excellence. I’m pushing the uplifting of my people and the integrity of the culture overall.
7. Top 5 hip-hop artists (dead or alive)
- I can’t give a top 5 dead or alive because that’s incredibly difficult to do. I’ll give my personal top five instead.
- No debating my opinion. No particular order: Treach, Method Man, Jay-Z, Biggie, Chino XL
8. Where do you see PushMoneyEnt in the next 5 years?
- I see Push Money becoming the next big thing out of the Tri-State. I see the artists on PME changing the way people view hardcore lyrical artists.
- We make hits, we make vibes, and we make history.
